Today's review is all about my new massive TV!

I want to be honest about this review- I didn't actually buy this TV.
I won it in a radio competition along with some other prizes.
Our previous TV was a Blaupunkt 40 inch which wasn't great, the sound was tinny and the remote didn't work very well, I had bought it in the black Friday sales a couple of years ago and regretted it ever since! My son has this in his room now.
My daughter and I had talked a while ago about getting a smart TV because she was using the Wii U to watch Youtube and Netflix and it has a habit of losing internet connection, which for her is quite frustrating when she in the midst of an amazing episode of Ru Pauls Drag Race ( real teenage problems! )
So I actually couldn't believe it when I received an email to say we had won the
LG 49UJ630V 49 inch 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart LED TV (2017 Model)

Its very simple which is great for me, Sky and the Consoles are accessed through the HDMI widgets so you cant really go wrong. Up in the right corner of the screen, you can access screen features such as brightness and volume. You can also link devices such as laptops and mobile phones to this TV. You can access numerous channels including Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Freeview, Amazon Prime, Now TV, Youtube and Rakuten tv.
The remote control is very simplistic which is great because there's nothing more overwhelming and bewildering for me than a hundred buttons. It has all the standard features that you would expect from a remote but with a few extra buttons. I love the buttons which take me straight to Netflix and Amazon Prime. The sound on this TV is amazing especially compared to my old tinny TV, apparently, it has ULTRA Surround effect, not sure what this really means but it does sound clear and even and is great with the music channels my teens listen to.
For me, the most amazing thing about this TV is the Ultra HD 4K resolution.

If you are looking for a review with loads of technical intelligent information then you may want to look elsewhere because this review is written from the perspective of an almost 40-year-old woman who kind of understands the basics of technology and has to constantly ask her teens to help her make things work!
So what do I think of this TV?
It's Amazing!
It arrived well packaged with lots of information leaflets and instructions on how to set it up.
My son and his friend had this setup and ready to go within half an hour, it connects to the various other devices via HDMI cables, really quick and easy to do.
The design is black and very sleek and thin.
It has one button in the centre under the LG logo to turn it on.
Feeling around the TV there aren't any other buttons so mental note to myself not to lose the remote control!
Like all TVs now, the surrounding casing is very slim so you get maximum screen size without the tv being too bulky.
The 49-inch sized screen is the largest I would consider having as my lounge is square and any bigger would be too much and wouldn't sit in the corner of the room, I don't like TVs mounted on walls because I personally don't think its very homely in a lounge.
This TV sits nicely on my black glass TV unit and blends well with the other electrical devices (Sky plus box, Wii U and cordless phone)
The operation of this TV is really simple.
Once you turn it on and press the home button the widgets for choices pop up along the bottom and you just move along to what you want.

For me, the most amazing thing about this TV is the Ultra HD 4K resolution.
I don't watch TV that often but sat down to watch Jamestown and couldn't believe how crystal clear the images were, with gorgeous colours and every definition of the actor's faces.
So far we have absolutely no complaints about this TV, the only thing my daughter has said is she wishes she could use Spotify
Before I got this TV I would have said I would never consider paying over £500 for a TV but now we have I see why people do.
