This is a recipe I found on a supermarket website.
It is easy to make with barely any use of the cooker and the kids loved it.
The tricky part is getting the Oreos to break down in the food processor.
I suggest putting about 6 Oreos at a time and stopping to bang the bowl otherwise big chunks of biscuit get stuck in the corners.
Ingredients
The biscuit base
200g Oreo's
50g Unsalted Butter (melted)
The Slime
2 x 150g ready-made custard
1 teaspoon of green gel food Colouring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Topping
100g Dark Chocolate, broken up
100g Milk Chocolate, broken up
175 ml Double Cream
40g Unsalted butter
50g White Chocolate
Instructions
- Put the Oreo biscuits in the food processor and blitz to small crumbs. Mix the crumbs with the melted butter
- Press the mixture into a 23cm tart tin using the back of a spoon, ensuring you press the mix into the sides as well as the bottom
- Place into freezer whilst you prepare your slime
- For the slime place the custard into a bowl, add the green colouring and vanilla extract and mix together
- Remove base from freezer and pour green slime mix on top, place this back into the freezer for 40 mins to set.
- for the chocolate, topping place the double cream and butter in a saucepan and heat on a slow setting until the butter has melted
- remove from the heat and add the dark and milk chocolate stirring well until melted.
- Allow to cool for at least five minutes before pouring over the green slime
- Melt the White chocolate and place in a piping bag. Swirl the white chocolate into a swirl on the chocolate topping.
- Using a cocktail stick or skewer, drag through the topping at regular intervals to create spider web effect.
- Place in the fridge to set for at least 30 minutes.
