These fab Oreo Owl Cupcakes are so easy to make and a big hit with the kids
You can use a variety of sweets for the eyes and beak, I used Smarties as they are all the same size and easy to work with.
These cakes need to be eaten soon after being made as the biscuit will go stale
Serves 12
Ingredients
12 basic chocolate cupcakes (in cases)
- 200ml double cream
- 200g mascarpone cheese
- 50g caster sugar
- 50g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 24 Oreo® cookies
- 24 brown Smarties
- 12 orange or yellow Smarties
Instructions
- Prepare 12 Basic chocolate cupcakes
- To make the icing whip the double cream and slowly add the mascarpone cheese
- Add the sugar and cocoa powder and mix.
- Add icing to the cupcakes
- For the decoration carefully open up the oreo biscuit, leaving the white cream on one side
- Place the iced oreo halves on the cupcake to create two eyes
- Use a smartie to create a pupil for the eye
- Carefully snap the uncreamed side of the Oreo biscuit and place carefully between the eyes (circular side inward) to create the feathers/eyebrows
- place a yellow or orange smartie horizontally just below the eyes to create a beak
- Enjoy!
